The connection Hamburg and Glashütte is another aspect of the German Chronometer history. In addition to the founding of the "Deutsche Seewarte Hamburg" in 1875 as a test center for Chronometer, the joint production of marine chronometers at both locations and the establishment of a research institute at the Sternwarte Glashütte were promoted from the 1930s.
